The TLC Approach
Our goal is for all children throughout the 24:1 footprint of Normandy School District and St. Louis region to be well in all aspects of life. We empower children through our no-cost after-school programs, free summer camp, and social-emotional learning.
The well-being of local educators is a crucial component of supporting our youth. We encourage educators to grow, connect, and be inspired by building networks through professional development workshops to lead with purpose.
We are striving to eliminate barriers in a friendly and supportive space. We act as a home for programming needs; a centralized, easy-to-access location, and a hub for community members to access services and activities to promote health and collaboration.
We are the hub for growth, offering events for educators, community involvement, and youth development. We are empowering the next generation to thrive. Youth Work Initiative
GROWING SKILLS. BUILDING LEGACY.
This summer, trained youth from The Legacy Center STL are providing reliable, safe, and affordable lawn care services to senior residents in Velda City.
Hiring a TLC youth not only provides you with affordable lawn service, but instills responsibility, work ethic, and confidence in a young person within our community.
SERVICES INCLUDE:
• Lawn Mowing
• Edging & Trimming
• Blowing & Cleanup
• Light Yard Cleanup (as needed)
WHO QUALIFIES?
• Velda City residents
• Age 60+ (or with a demonstrated need)
• Lawn must be safe and accessible
COST OPTIONS:
• FREE (for qualifying seniors)
• $10–$25 per visit (sliding scale)
• Sponsor-a-Senior option available
SERVICE SCHEDULE:
• Weekly or Biweekly Service
• June – August
• Weather permitting
